Goal

Provide seating/workspace for a class of students.

What will be done with my students

Students currently have an outdoor space to use but it is not a functional place for a class. We would like to update it and add some outdoor furniture. This will allow it to be a working outdoor classroom space! There is a stage out there already so the bench style is perfect for when a teacher wants to bring a class out to watch presentations or performances. Having the bench convert into a desk, is beneficial for when a teacher wants students to complete work on paper or computer.

Benefits to my students

If we can get the furniture, whole classes can go out to the secret garden and enjoy an outdoor learning experience. It would be open for every teacher at our school to sign up to bring their classes out there. This will make learning more enjoyable and bring a different setting for students to enjoy throughout their time at our school.

Budget Narrative

Each bench can function as a bench or convert to a table working space. We can join two together to get a full picnic table like space. We estimate that 2-3 students can fit per bench so 4 benches would give us space for 8-12 students. (There are 3 existing wooden picnic tables out there that can fit the remaining students in a class.)
