Goal

The goal of Citizen of the Month awards ceremonies with guest speakers is to provide positive recognition for students who go above and beyond in exhibiting good character traits and introduce role models to expand students' horizons.

What will be done with my students

All students in the school will receive enhanced character education via access to career and citizen-based presentations from professional community members. One student from each classroom will be selected monthly as the Student of the Month. These students will attend an awards breakfast, occurring monthly, with their parents to celebrate their positive influence on our school. At this time, the speakers will present to the awardees. The presentation will be recorded for the rest of the school.

Benefits to my students

Students will have the chance to celebrate positive behavior and commitments to citizenship. Lealman Avenue Elementary School hosts role models and students learn more about career and volunteer opportunities available to professionals.
