Goal

My goal is to bring a Gaga pit to Mount Vernon so we can use it to teach students about an activity that they would not normally get to play.

What will be done with my students

I was introduced to a Gaga pit at my last school. The students loved it and begged to do the activity all the time. This activity starts off with all the students in the Gaga pit, then the teacher throws a ball in. Students start hitting the ball with there hands only, if the ball touches your leg you are out. It is super cool because most students have never even heard of or seen a gaga pit so this is truly only a activity they can play at school. My students will be able to use this activity to strategize with each other while staying active the whole time.

Benefits to my students

This benefits my students because it is an activity that is unique and can be integrated in daily lessons. It helps keep them engaged and moving throughout the activity. If we are not using it for P.E. that day, recess can use it as well so it can be a benefit to the whole school.

We have ESE, ELL/ESOL, and a decent amount of low income students.

I looked at practice sports.com and a 15' Diameter GaGa Ball Pit without a floor cost $1,000. The shipping is $305.00 and the tax is $91.35. The total is $1,396.35.
