Benefits to my students
As a school counselor, I’ve always wanted to create an environment for my students that makes them feel comfortable. In today’s society, teenagers usually have difficulty opening up and expressing their feelings and sometimes being at school is the escape that they need during these challenging times in their lives. Consider how vulnerable you’re asking students to be as you are trying to help them open up about the death of a loved one, a breakup, a parent being deported, or disclosing that he or she is becoming a teen parent. By purchasing these chairs, interactive games, coloring books, and relaxing tools. I hope to increase their feelings of comfort, safety, and security. Also, providing snacks as an incentive to help motivate improve academically or for students may not have enough food at home that may need a snack. I am asking you to help me to create an atmosphere that could add a level of comfort in their daily stressful lives which may help change that doubtful mindset into perseverance.
