Goal

The goal is the ability to produce a publication of art and literature that showcases the talent of students who have a passion for creative arts (visual, performing, and literary.)  

What will be done with my students

Students will have an opportunity to submit pieces of art and literature representing a pre-selected theme that supports the mission statement of the Nassau County School District. Chosen submissions will be published by Story and Song (Ingram Spark Publishing) in a book of collective works.  

Benefits to my students

Students will receive recognition for their talents in the creative arts. Students will also be prompted to engage in self-reflection and analyzation of the world in which they live. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to build character by collaborating with their peers and taking part in meaningful conversations through artistic expression. 

Budget Narrative

Story and Song offers an initial publishing package for $350 which includes: Consultation meeting to understand your project, provide guidance, highlight our printed samples, and discuss your printing options for size, stock choice, binding, etc., Price quotes for printing and shipping, an electronic proof of your book, 1 hard copy printed proof of your book, and resources to help with layout, editing or proofing, etc.

I estimate that the publication, which published 35 students this year, will grow and approximately 50-60 students will be published next year, therefore I would like to purchase 80 books.
