Goal

Our goal is to renew our annual subscription to the website, Generation Genius.  

What will be done with my students

Students and teachers will have unlimited access to the Generation Genius Science Lessons on the website. This subscription includes videos, lesson plans, games, quizzes, hands on activities, and worksheets that teachers can use to supplement the lessons that they teach in class. Teachers can use the lessons as a preface or extension to the material they are about to teach. The flexibility of the program allows teachers a variety of ways to ensure that the students have understood the material being taught. Since the lessons range from grades K-5 and 6-8 each grade level has a video on just about every science standard taught, or teachers are able to loop back to previous content if need be. 

Benefits to my students

We have thoroughly enjoyed having access to this program for the past 4 years. Our entire science team uses it and the kids love it. This program allows teachers a different method of presenting content that is engaging for students. I've found that this program is great for my students that require a visual perspective of the material. It is also wonderful for those who are motivated by online games such as Kahoot or Quizizz (which are most of the students). Students enjoy watching Dr. Jeff, with his lively personality and upbeat presentation of the material. The program gives just enough of a crash course on the content that students are interested to dive deeper in if they are just starting the topic. If they have been in it for a while it offers a perfect summary of the content to make sure that they remember all the key points. As Jeff says, "Always question, always wonder!" 

Budget Narrative

This will cover a one year renewal for our school wide subscription to the website, Generation Genius (Science Lessons).
