Goal
The goal is to increase classroom participation, engagement, and focus during whole group and small group math instruction.
What will be done with my students
Students will utilize Boogie Boards to connect with math curriculum by demonstrating proficiency in the BEST math standards. These boards can be used during whole group and small group instruction in collaboration with peers and teachers for immediate feedback. Graphs, charts, and tables will become easily created by the students due to the versatility and features of the board.
Benefits to my students
The Boogie Boards will benefit both students and teachers greatly. By being a writing tablet that is durable, safe, and easily disinfected, they will be used year after year. Therefore, they will be a permanent integration in the classroom for student benefit. The Boogie Board is a creative way to provide engagement with a modern high-tech feel. Students will be able to demonstrate their math abilities with immediate feedback from the teacher. This project proves its innovative ability to be used across multiple disciplinaries within the middle school setting.
Boogie Boards will replace white boards, markers, and erasers in the classroom, which will allow continuous instruction without interruption due to dried-out markers. They will also eliminate fumes, stains, and airborne dust particles that can settle on surfaces or be inhaled.
