Goal

We are currently using a production company to provide the scripts, costumes, music and sound equipment to our Drama Club. This means we are on their schedule and they choose the play options we have. The problem is some of their scripts are very elementary and cannot accommodate our large group. We would like to break away from them and be solely operations, these microphones would put us in a position to do this. 

What will be done with my students

This grant would allow us to buy 3 more microphones and be able to break away from the production company and do the sound in our Drama Club ourselves. The microphones would be implemented as soon as they're received in our Drama Club and used weekly at our practices and twice a year at our performances. 

Benefits to my students

We currently have 77 committed students in our drama club along with 7 teachers. When we performed 290 students were able to attend the in school performance. Having our own sound equipment allows us to do plays of our choosing and maybe even more complex. Our Drama Club is continuously growing and allowing students to bring the arts alive. This year we had students drawing posters to advertise, singing, dancing, doing choreography, and making decorating for our cafeteria. Getting these microphones and being able to be independent would add set design and costume design to the list. 

Budget Narrative

These microphones and cords would enable us to be able to produce our own sounds making it possible for us to branch out and make our own decisions on plays so we don't have to use a production company because have already performed their hardest play and we did it in the shortest amount of time we have ever done a play. The students are ready for a challenge.
