Goal

What will be done with my students

With these WA2 wheel throwing forms, the following activities and projects will be undertaken to benefit your students:
1. Hands-On Workshops: Students will participate in structured workshops that introduce them to wheel throwing techniques using WA2 forms, ensuring they understand the fundamentals of pottery making.
2. Skill-Building Exercises: Regular practice sessions will be held where students use the forms to create various pottery shapes, allowing them to develop and refine their skills incrementally.
3. Creative Projects: Students will be encouraged to design and create their unique pieces using the forms as a foundation, fostering creativity and personal expression.
4. Collaborative Learning: Group projects will be organized where students can share their techniques and learn from each other’s experiences, promoting a collaborative learning environment.

Budget Narrative

Project Title: Enhancing Ceramics Education with WA2 Wheel Throwing Forms
Objective: To purchase WA2 wheel throwing forms for each pottery wheel in the classroom, providing individualized instruction and skill development for high school students, aligned with Florida Sunshine State Standards.
1. Materials and Supplies
o WA2 Wheel Throwing Forms (6 sets, $185.84 each): $1,115.04
 These professional-grade form systems will be used to teach students the fundamental techniques of wheel throwing. Each set includes various shapes and sizes, enabling students to practice and master different forms and designs.
2. Administrative Costs
o Shipping and Handling: $100
 Covers the cost of shipping the WA2 forms and other materials to the school.
3. Contingency Fund: $100
o A small contingency fund to cover any unexpected expenses or price variations.
Total Budget: $2,315.04
Justification: With 180 students and only 6 pottery wheels available in the classroom, acquiring WA2 wheel throwing forms for each wheel will significantly enhance the ceramics program by allowing for simultaneous, individualized instruction. This setup ensures that multiple students promoting artistic growth. By equipping each wheel with a WA2 form, we address the high student-to-wheel ratio, providing a more efficient and impactful educational experience for all students.
