What will be done with my students
The curriculum this year will include more centers and student-led assignments so the flexible seating will be a permanent part of the classroom. Once whole class instruction is complete, students will either be working independently or with partners on assignments. During the time of independent work, centers work, or partner work, the students will have the choice to move around and use their choice for flexible seating. They can choose from bean bags, lap desk with cushion, or even take a cushion seat outside to work.
Benefits to my students
The flexible seating will allow for the students to choose where and how they are going to complete their work. Giving them choices will allow them to try each and see which option works best for them. By implementing flexible seating and giving them opportunities to move around the classroom daily, students will be more engaged and willing to work.

The budget allows for 5 bean bag chairs, 10 cushion seats, and 10 portable lap desks.
