Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.

What will be done with my students

Students will study the life cycle of a monarch butterfly as well as learn responsibility. Students will plant and care for Milkweed, which is a major food source of the caterpillar. They will observe the different stages of the butterfly's life cycle in a garden outside of their classroom. This project will last the whole school year and enjoyed by the whole school.

Benefits to my students

Students will understand a major science standard by observing it all year long. They will learn responsibility by caring for the plants and garden. They will hopefully develop a love of nature and the environment.

Budget Narrative

The giant milkweed plants will be planted in the school garden. The butterfly enclosure will also be in the garden which is right outside our classroom.
