Goal

The goal of this grant is for all students at Sabal Palm Elementary School (SPE) to feel a sense of belonging. Students that were chosen as Student Leadership Ambassadors were nominated/selected by teachers and staff to represent what SPE is all about; inspiring. Our ongoing goal is for students to feel inspired to lead when wearing their sash and inspire other students to look up to these leaders as role model citizens for our school. Lastly, the goal of this grant is to empower students at Sabal Palm Elementary, a school where all students belong!

What will be done with my students

Student Leadership Ambassadors are trained each year by me (School Counselor) in a variety of ways. Student Leadership Ambassadors have friendly faces and kind hearts that have been known to welcome new students to our school by giving them a tour. Student Leadership Ambassadors have also welcomed families during special events during the school day including assemblies and ceremonies. Student Leadership Ambassadors are a great resource for students, faculty and staff alike.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students granted with the opportunity to participate in this project have an endless list of benefits that include, however are not limited to:
• Belief in development of whole self
• Sense of acceptance, respect, support and inclusion for self and others in school and at home
• Positive attitude
• Self-confidence in ability to succeed.
• Belief in using abilities to their fullest to achieve.
 

 

Budget Narrative

The Sallee Promotions quote was (approximate) $25 per sash including lettering and colors printed. The sashes would be green/dark green in color with gold writing to represent our school colors. A logo of a hawk, our school mascot, will also be included. We would like to order 25 sashes from Sallee totaling about $500. With a 6% tax, it would the total would be $530.00. This is approximate. These sashes will be stored in the School Counselor office when not in use and can be used year after year. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
