Goal

The goal of this grant is to be able to continue to create a culture of kindness at Sabal Palm Elementary School through the promotion of kindness by teachers and the awarding of kindness to students. This grant will have a direct impact on all students, faculty and staff at Sabal Palm Elementary School daily and continue to support our school mission and vision.

What will be done with my students

Kindness Coin Teacher Pouches will be given to each teacher at the beginning of the year. Each pouch will contain a set of coins. Teachers will award students with coins for showing kindness, in addition to our school-wide expectations. Kindness Coin Student Pouches will be given to students at the beginning of the school year for them to hold onto their coins. Coins will be used in exchange for awards, prizes, and opportunities both in and outside the classroom. Our current Kindness Coin program helps support our school, district and state-wide positive behavior initiatives on campus and classroom management.  

 

Benefits to my students

If the students and staff were granted the opportunity to participate in this project, it would have an endless list of benefits that would support the goal of this grant and what would be done.
This includes, however is not limited to:
• Creating a culture of kindness on our campus
• Inspiring students to be kind.
• Providing enthusiasm for the learning experience
• Empowering positive behavior on our campus
• Help students gain and improve self-management skills.
• Helping students gain and improve social skills.
• Promote and support positive relationships with adults to support success.
 

 

Budget Narrative

Items approved will be purchased on Amazon.com. Pouches that are purchased will be re-cycled and re-used year after year and will have ongoing benefits to the teachers at Sabal Palm Elementary School. Items will be distributed at the beginning of the year to students/teachers and will be collected and stored in the School Counselor office at the end of each year.
