Goal

The goal of this project is to enhance the experiences of our elementary music students by providing high-quality barred instruments (xylophones) and equipment for the enrichment and musical development of students.

What will be done with my students

This project will greatly benefit our elementary music students' musical development and experiences. Providing new xylophones will expand opportunities for hands-on learning and musical exploration, as well as providing students with opportunities to apply their learned musical concepts. This project would allow us to ensure that there are enough instruments for students to use in a classroom setting, as well as allow the opportunity to provide more available positions in our after school xylophone ensemble. In addition, the instrument tables requested provide students with flexibility and comfort while playing or performing, as well as ease of transportation of instruments. 

 

Benefits to my students

Ensemble Inclusivity: As the music teacher, by providing additional instrumentation to students, it will allow me to create more openings in our after-school performance ensembles. At this moment, the instrumentation that my students have access to does not amount to a full, well-balanced ensemble. These additional instruments will allow for a more balanced ensemble experience for our students without needing to supplement with other musical components.

Whole-Class Opportunity: Although our students are flexible with sharing instruments, providing these additional instruments would remove that boundary from the music classroom. This will, in turn, create more opportunities for students to utilize and enjoy these instruments in the music classroom.
