Goal

The goal of this request is to provide Golden Gate Elementary students with modified curriculum the opportunity to create art work on their own and maximize their participation in the art room. With the supplies listed my students with disabilities can adapt easier to art projects and be more hands on within the art classroom.

Category

School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.

What will be done with my students

My students with disabilities will be able to maximize their time in the art room when coming into art with full classes. The materials donated will be applied to only my MC3 and MC1 students, these are students with modified curriculum who have learning disabilities and might be physically or visually impairment. These materials are adaptive to my students giving them the chance to create artwork and not get frustrated. Dot activity sheets will allow students to draw and practice writing using dots. A lot of the activity sheets correspond with lessons taught everyday in art with general education and now my MC students will be able to follow along with their dot markers. Jumbo crayons and triangle markers will give my students the opportunity to grip supplies. Color mess drawing pads allow students to “get messy” with out physically touching paint or slime. These pads are based off touch alone to create. Gel ABC’s/gel fidgets/ sensory bottles give my students a break when they get frustrated in the art room. Building magnetic blocks gives students the ability to build on their own by feeling on the magnets. Drawing magnets allow students to draw on the blocks they use to create a sculpture. Puzzles give students time to think outside of the box to build or solve a problem on their own using their fine motor skills.

Benefits to my students

These materials will help my MC3 and MC1 students problem solve and boost their fine motor skills. Along with enhancing their communication and giving them a chance to express themselves nonverbally. These materials will allow my students to feel successful and give them motivation when entering the art room. These materials will give my students a chance to also take a break when frustrated not only in art but can be used in their classroom on a daily bases.

Budget Narrative

All materials will be used towards my MC3 and MC1 classes in art. Materials will be purchased from amazon. Thank you!
