Statewide Reach for Local Impact

FIND IT FUND IT FLORIDA

At Calusa Park Elementary, our mission is to turn curiosity into discovery. In our science lab, this starts from the ground up—literally. Our goal is to get a set of stools that will transform our science lab into an engaging, interactive learning space for our students.

Our current lab seating is outdated and uninspiring. New stools will encourage active participation, allowing students to move freely and comfortably as they explore, experiment, and collaborate. The stools will support hands-on activities and experiments that align with science standards for each grade. They’ll be the ideal height for young scientists to interact with lab materials, and will help us to reinforce core scientific principles and practices. Our school prioritizes creating an inclusive, engaging, and innovative learning environment. These stools will play a crucial role in meeting this goal by fostering a more interactive and inclusive lab experience.

What will be done with my students

With the new stools, students will rotate through various hands-on science stations designed to explore topics from the properties of matter to animal habitats and beyond. The stools’ design will facilitate easy movement and adjustment, ensuring every student can engage fully with the stations. The stools will be used in group activities where students collaborate on experiments and projects. Their flexibility will accommodate group sizes and configurations, encouraging teamwork and communication. The stools will be an integral part of the science lab for years to come.

Benefits to my students

The new stools will revolutionize our science lab experience. Students will be more eager to participate in experiments and activities. The stools will make the lab environment more comfortable and accessible. By aligning with grade-level standards and providing a flexible learning environment, students will better grasp scientific concepts through hands-on, experiential learning.

Budget Narrative

We are seeking funding for the purchase of 24 high-quality stools for our science lab, priced at $1,173.12. These stools are essential for creating a flexible and engaging learning environment. Additionally, we have included a shipping cost of $520.48 to ensure the stools arrive promptly and are assembled correctly. This investment will greatly enhance our lab’s functionality and support hands-on learning for our students.
