What will be done with my students

Students will be building their knowledge and understanding of standard-based content through educational games. These games are instructional: students are asked questions related to the standard and based on how they answer they are offered feedback and chances to try again. Legends of Learning allows me to create games-based assignments for my students. When students finish an assignment early, they can go on Legends of Learning to play the games that will allow to put what they have been learning in class to practice.  

 

Benefits to my students

Legends of Learning offers engaging activities for students. Students who need remediation can improve with the use of instructional games on Legends of Learning. However, not only students who need remediation can benefit from Legends of Learning; all students are able to practice what they know and expand their knowledge through Legends of Learning. Not all students learn the same way. Some students are more into digital resources, and this is a great resource for them. Students last year told me Legends of Learning helped them better understand the topics we were covering in class and they enjoyed it. This program, while fun and engaging, "supercharges" the science lesson. Legends of Learning is backed by research: published studies have shown that this game-based learning program has improved student test scores. 

 

Budget Narrative

The entire grant will be applied to purchasing a year subscription.
