Goal
To honor the requests of my students and provide them with comfortable seating and a cozy learning environment. To provide flexible seating for a few of my students who need it.

What will be done with my students
In a recent classroom survey, my ELA students responded to the question, "What would you want to experience in a perfect learning environment?" The overwhelming majority of them responded with comfortable chairs, cozy areas for reading/working and dim lighting. I picture ambient lighting, comfortable seating options and a soft rug.
Benefits to my students
My students will benefit from a comfortable learning environment by being able to relax a bit during their double blocks of ELA. They will have the option of moving to various areas of the classroom for independent reading or while working on an assignment.
Budget Narrative
I will use this grant to purchase flexible seating, cozy rugs and ambient lighting options for my students.
