Goal

My goal is to provide each student with a personal whiteboard in class to use for practice.

Category

Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.

What will be done with my students

We will use the whiteboards to practice our math and I will be able to give students immediate feedback based on their answers and work. We can also use them when playing math games!

Benefits to my students

These boards will benefit students because there is research that shows students are more likely to show their thinking when using whiteboards than when using traditional pencil and paper methods. They will be able to receive immediate acknowledgement of correct work/answers or help finding misconceptions or incorrect processes. Students also enjoy using whiteboards more than pencil and paper, so they will be more interested in doing the work.

Budget Narrative

The 30 dry erase boards are larger than a normal personal board, because students often run out of room on the standard ones. They are also double sided with one side being a coordinate plane so that we can graph functions, linear equations, proportional relationships, etc. The single stand-up dry erase board is so that I will be able to demonstrate at our small group table and all students will easily be able to see.
