What will be done with my students

I plan to use the money to fund the food necessary for my independent life skills class. The money will allow my students to have the opportunity to purchase groceries needed. This will give them practice and more confidence in their ability to select groceries, interact with the employees and pay for their groceries. We will use the groceries to work on their cooking skills so that my students will be able to independently cook at home. I will also use the money to go to a restaurant with my students. This will give them practice and the skills needed to look at a menu, order food, interact with others and pay for their food. I had this grant last year and my students greatly benefited from it.

Benefits to my students

My students will gain confidence and independence. Students will be more independent after learning how to to cook for themselves and others. Students will gain confidence in the area of speaking to others and be able to independently order food for themselves.

Budget Narrative

Money will only be used to purchase groceries for the students to cook with and a trip to a restaurant.
