Goal

My goal with this project is to create an environment where every student, regardless of their background or language proficiency, can feel capable and excited about math. These resources will not only enhance their understanding but also help them realize that they can excel in a subject that sometimes feels intimidating. With your support, my students will see that math is not just a subject—they’ll see it as a key to their future.

What will be done with my students

Interactive Math Stations: I will set up various math stations in the classroom, each focused on a different key concept such as addition, subtraction, place value, and geometry. These stations will be equipped with hands-on tools like manipulatives, number lines, and geometric shapes. Students will rotate through these stations, allowing them to engage with math concepts in a tangible, interactive way.

Small Group Instruction: With the help of these resources, I can tailor instruction to meet students where they are in their math understanding. I’ll work with small groups, using the manipulatives and visual aids to explain concepts in a way that’s accessible regardless of language proficiency. This personalized approach ensures that each student gets the support they need to succeed. These tools will help them better understand math vocabulary and concepts, ensuring that they don’t fall behind due to language barriers. 

 

Benefits to my students

Math is a universal language, and with the resources I'm requesting, my students will be able to unlock its mysteries and feel the joy of success. These tools will help make abstract concepts tangible, offering hands-on experiences that will reinforce their learning and boost their confidence. 

 

Budget Narrative

he budget focuses on providing essential math resources to enhance learning for my second-grade students, particularly those who are English Language Learners (ELL).

Manipulatives: Funding will go towards hands-on tools like counting blocks and number lines to help students grasp math concepts more effectively.

Educational Games: I will purchase math-focused games to make learning interactive and enjoyable, reinforcing key skills.

Visual Aids: Bilingual visual aids will support ELL students, ensuring they can understand and engage with math lessons.

Organization: Funds will also cover storage solutions to keep the classroom organized and materials easily accessible.

These resources will create an engaging, supportive math environment, helping all students succeed.
