Goal
The goal of this grant is to provide my third grade students with enriching learning experiences through the use of manipulatives and movement.

What will be done with my students
My students will have various opportunities to enhance their learning using manipulatives and movement. Students will use a wide variety of strategies to broaden their understanding of key mathematical concepts. Students will use playdough to create models to help them better understand arrays and equal groups. Students will use whiteboards to draw models. Students will be able to practice multiplication facts independently at their own pace using multiplication wrap-ups.
Benefits to my students
Manipulatives and motion takes learning to a new level as it combines using manipulatives and movement to review as well as learn new core content skills. This twist to learning is designed to help students stay engaged and take ownership of their learning. Research shows that the consistent and appropriate use of manipulatives increases students engagement and provides an access point to abstract concepts by serving as a concreate model of the math concept.
