Goal

To increase student engagement and active participation in music lessons by implementing a series of interactive and energetic classroom activities. This will be achieved through the acquisition of new musical instruments and curriculum materials designed to support hands-on learning and creative expression.

What will be done with my students

Allow students to participate in a variety of musical activities and using instruments to excite their interest. To reinforce musical concepts and providing multiple ways to experience music from other cultures.  

 

Benefits to my students

Benefits include: fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, directionality, balance, listening skills, focus and memory skills, self regulations skills, creative thinking, emotional well being and a sense of community. These benefits will certainly support other student academic areas.  

 

Budget Narrative

Asking for $1042.09 for a variety of instruments and manipulatives to provide students with a diverse range of hands-on instruments. This selections will allow for exploration of different musical traditions and will accommodate various students skill levels.
Justification: Having multiple types of instruments will enable us to teach a wide array of rhythms and techniques. The diversity in materials will also allow for differentiated instruction, ensuring that students with varying abilities can participate fully in the musical activities.
