Statewide Reach for Local Impact

FIND IT FUND IT FLORIDA

This grant is focusing on the opportunity for new Leadership Clubs such as Entrepreneurship Club and others. Clubs are crucial for students K-5 as they provide opportunities for social interactions, skill development, and personal growth beyond standard curriculum. All our students participate in clubs that allow them to explore their interests, develop new talents, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Clubs at TBE aim to foster teamwork and leadership skills, enhance problem solving abilities, and encourage a sense of responsibility and commitment. The ability to provide additional or new leadership clubs can help our students build friendships and feel more connected to their school community and contributes to students’ enthusiasm for learning. We would like to create an authentic environment for our students to experience and learn lifelong skills with a focus on career development.
This grant will help with upfront costs of supplies and then be reused in upcoming years as we continue to provide these opportunities for our students.

What will be done with my students

This grant will support our Welcome club semester one and new Leadership Club semester two supplies. To create a more welcoming and enriched experience for our students, we would like to purchase supplies which will be used in creating bracelets and stress balls. Students will create products (TBE bracelets and stress balls) to sell at the school store using manatee money. Students will learn marketing strategies to promote their products such as advertisement on the morning news and posters. Students will also take inventory to track how their products are selling and how effective their marketing is performing.

Benefits to my students

As a Leader in Me Lighthouse school, our mission is to recognize individual genius, build confidence, and create leaders. One opportunity that we use to follow our mission is to hold monthly leadership clubs school-wide. Students use their voice and take a survey to select their top choices in which clubs they'd like to participate in. Each year they have the opportunity to experience two different clubs (one per semester), where they meet once per month during school hours.
Our staff members have worked hard in creating opportunities for our students that have a piece built in to serve others, whether it's within the school or community. In addition to the life-skills that students are learning in these particular clubs, students will learn marketing skills, inventory, and how to create products such as bracelets and stress balls to sell at the school store with their school community.
Your support in purchasing these supplies will help us create authentic environments for our students to learn these skills.
