Goal

Our students have been working so hard with their reading. I know that stamina and fluency is a challenge for them. I would like to motivate them ALL by hosting engaging "Silent Disco" dance party celebrations for students that improvement.

What will be done with my students

This project will motivate the kids to really apply themself with their FLUENCY skills. Fluency is considered as an important indicator for progressing in language learning and it becomes one of the conditions which ensure the success in communication. Most native students of English can read fluently with good comprehension, but they would have difficulty in doing grammar exercises on their reading. On the other hand, many ELL students have little fluency, but considerable grammatical knowledge to do a test. In this case, EFL students do not need more grammatical knowledge but, their fluency. Therefore, ELL learners speaking fluency needs to be the focus of attention in the ELL teaching contexts. As long as the student increasing in their iReady reading scores they will get to participate/celebrate. I will be able to track them using their iReady data and I will be able to encourage them on the morning show and remind them that their efforts will be "Silently" celebrated.
This can also be used for class rewards and school events. This equipment has been used for yoga, meditation, and fitness, so students don’t miss anything their instructor is saying. It makes gatherings more inclusive by helping to limit sensory overload and to aid with hearing and attention difficulties.
At this time I have the opportunity to purchase this item for 1,247.00 because of match funding. Thank you for your consideration. 

 

Benefits to my students

As the students utilize the iReady program. We will monitor their Literacy progress as throughout the year as they complete their diagnostics on iReady. Our Reading Lexile Levels Literacy currently have 31% Mid or Above, 18% Early on Grade Level, 37% one grade Level Below, 10% 2 grade Levels Below, and 5% 3 grade Levels or more Below. Our goal is to increase the percentage of students from early, one grade level below, 2 grade levels below, 3+ grade levels below up to the next level ban. We will measure them at the end of the year to present the students growth.

Fluency in language use is considered as a successful factor of students during the language learning processes.
