Goal
The goal with purchasing this basic chemistry necessity to aid both the students in their understanding and me, as the teacher, in demonstrating key chemistry concepts to them.
Category
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
What will be done with my students
These molecular units will be used for many things. First and foremost, it will help students visualize and physically see the molecules and bonds we are learning about in class. They will also be used for student assessments and lab activities, like asking them to name the unknown molecule or to combine the atoms to make new molecules.
Benefits to my students
Primarily, they will increase student understanding by allowing students to see the 3D nature of molecules instead of the 2D images in their textbook and that I draw on the whiteboard.
Budget Narrative
The 20 sets total $1,660.60 and the shipping cost is $41.61, per the quote from the company (Carolina science, please see attached). Donahue Academy is tax exempted so the normal $200 of taxes has been waived.
