Goal

I would like to acquire a classroom rug to create a positive and collaborative learning environment for my students.

Category

Class Furniture - Carpets, choral risers, transitional seating/desks, etc.

What will be done with my students

The carpet in my current classroom is not nearly big enough to fit all of my students on. A lot of our whole group instruction gets done on the carpet. This project would benefit my students because it would allow them to each have a comfortable space where they can gather for instruction.

Benefits to my students

With the new rug, I expect all of my students to be able to have their own defined space on the carpet. This will enable us to have more collaborative conversations between partners after teacher posed questions. Additionally, it will allow the students to refocus quicker when it is time to bring their attention back because they will each have a space. Lastly, transitions to and from the carpet will be quicker because the students won't have to fight for space to sit- this will allow for optimal instructional time throughout the day.

Budget Narrative

The price of the carpet is $309.99. I
