Goal
The Mendenhall Tiger School Store Student Incentive Program represents an exciting opportunity to enhance our educational environment and motivate our students. It plays a vital role in promoting student attendance, financial literacy, and character building.
With the support of this grant, we can create a rewarding experience that recognizes and celebrates student achievement for a more engaged school community. It will provide us with prize incentives and supplies to open our Tiger Store. Thank you for considering our request to support this valuable initiative.
The expected outcome is a 5% increase in student attendance and a 5% reduction in daily tardies. This will be determined by comparing the average daily attendance and average daily tardy reports.

What will be done with my students
Students will have the opportunity to earn Tiger Bucks each day for attendance, displaying the monthly character trait, and focusing on academics. Students spend their Tiger Bucks on prizes at the Tiger Store.
Each month, the class with the highest attendance in their grade level will receive Tiger Bucks to use at the Tiger store.
Students have a number assigned to them in their homeroom. Each morning on the morning show, a winning “Beat the Bell” number will be announced. If the chosen student is in uniform and on-time, they get Tiger Bucks to spend at the store.
Every student in the school (Grades PreK to 5th) will be able to shop once per month throughout the academic year.
”Absenteeism and its ill effects start early. Poor attendance can influence whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade or be held back. And by 6th grade, chronic absence is a leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school.” (Alonso et. al.)
The Tiger Bucks store provides educational enrichment in the form of an attendance incentive, positive behavior support, and financial literacy. Students use math skills by counting, spending, and saving their Tiger bucks.
