Goal
The goal of this project is to alleviate the burden of lice treatment costs and materials for families, ensuring students can quickly return to the classroom. By providing essential lice treatment kits and support materials, we aim to reduce absences related to lice and enhance family support resources.
We will measure the project's success by tracking student attendance improvement and parent feedback on the support they received. A pre and post-survey for affected families will help assess the financial and emotional impact of the support received.

What will be done with my students
The project will provide families with lice treatment kits and educational resources on lice prevention and management. These kits will include non-toxic treatment products, fine-toothed combs, and instructions for use. Families will also receive access to online resources and guidance to address potential questions or challenges. The initiative will be integrated as an ongoing support resource, available throughout the school year.
Planned Timeline:
Month 1: Identify vendors, purchase items, and set up storage.
Ongoing: Kits will be distributed as needed when lice cases arise.
By supporting families with resources to address lice, students can return to school faster with less disruption to learning. Consistent attendance has a direct impact on student engagement and academic progress.
Reducing absences related to lice contributes to continuous learning and achievement. Fewer missed days minimize the need for academic catch-up and encourage consistent participation in curriculum activities.
Benefits to my students
Decrease in Lice-Related Absences: We expect to reduce lice-related absences by 25% in the 2024-2025 school year, allowing students to engage fully in their academic curriculum.
Parental Support Satisfaction: Through pre and post-surveys of families who receive lice kits, we aim for at least 80% of respondents to report increased confidence in managing lice outbreaks due to the support and resources provided.
Measurement Plan:
Attendance Records: We will track and compare the number of days missed for lice-related issues pre- and post-implementation.
Family Surveys: Surveys distributed before and after kit distribution will gauge family stress levels, financial relief, and knowledge improvement regarding lice management.
