Goal
To increase the awareness of college admission requirements and available academic programs. This visit will provide students with an immersive experience of college life, including classroom visits, dorm tours, and hopefully interact with current college students and faculty. This will hopefully eliminate barriers for our students to obtaining college exposure by covering transportation and related costs.

What will be done with my students
This project will benefit the students by providing them with a firsthand experience of a college campus, and opportunity many may not have due to socioeconomic barriers. It will help students see that college is an attainable goal, even for first-generation college students, and broaden their perspective beyond their own neighborhoods. Through exposure and transverse to college life, they will gain a better understanding of what higher education offers. Also, interacting with current college students may be inspired to go to college.
Benefits to my students
Students will gain knowledge of college requirements including acceptance, scholarship requirements, and the number of years required to get desired degrees.
Students will become gain awareness of college, and dorm life, extracurricular activities, clubs and organizations and classroom structure.
Budget Narrative
Transportation to University of Florida. I am taking my 8th grade AVID students. We will leave around 6am and return in the evening of the same day.
