Find It Fund It Florida - Hillsborough Education Foundation

For my students to have the opportunity to have in-class technology in order to level the "playing field" for the 67.8% of who just came in under the proficiency level for their grade level. I could purchase enough tablets/laptops and headphones to rotate half of the students over a 2-day period. I want them to have an equitable opportunity to acquire literacy and feel confident about themselves.

Project Goal

For my students to have the opportunity to have in-class technology in order to level the "playing field" for the 67.8% of who just came in under the proficiency level for their grade level. I could purchase enough tablets/laptops and headphones to rotate half of the students over a 2-day period. I want them to have an equitable opportunity to acquire literacy and feel confident about themselves.

How Project Benefits Students

Students need to have daily access to many of the county programs that other schools have access to, such as: Springboard Digital, CPalms, Khan Academy, and multiple other resources. While 48.8% of my students came in well below a level, 3, I also have a 19% ESOL population of monolinguals. Being able to use programs to assist them in learning English would be a dream come true. For my 67.8% of struggling students, tablets would be an invaluable tool to increase literacy.

Expected Outcome(s)

I am expecting that by being able to provide my students with technology and endless resources, they will not only be at least on-level at the end of the year- but have a new found love for reading and learning.

Detailed Cost Summary

I have an average of 26 students in most classes. I would be able to work out a rotating schedule for the students with 14 laptops or tablets and 14 headphones.
