The goal of this project is to use Reflex Math to help boost students fluency with basic facts.
Students will use Reflex Math three times a week to help them learn basic facts and move towards fact fluency. Many of our students are economically disadvantaged and school can be a struggle. When students have many absences or a lack of home support, they can soon get far behind in math. At schools like ours, we struggle with ways and time to help close the achievement gaps. I think using this program could help.
We will use this program for our math students in grades 4 and 5. As I help support these students in math daily I notice many students have a strategy to solve a problem but struggle with basic facts for multiplication and division. Students will use this program 3 times a week during their breakfast time, this will allow them to still be exposed to daily content being taught. Students who are math fact fluent are more confident in math and perform better. Other title one schools have used this program and experienced success. The average starting fluency was 23% on day one, the average fluency on day 60 was 94%, and the average final fluency was 96%. Reflex math meets students where they are and helps them achieve success.
The program for total school access is $3,295. With $2,000 we could purchase individual licenses ( $35 per student) this will allow 57 students to use this program.
