Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Spurlino Foundation - $1,079.95
We hope to provide a warm and welcoming space for our Temple Terrace Elementary families. With this funding project, we will be able to update our storage cabinets with fresh primer and paint and also provide valuable storage to our room, in order to provide informational resources to our student's families. We will be working closely with our Community Partners and need to ensure that our Parent Resource Center is equipped to meet the diverse needs of our families.
Our goal is to make the Parent Resource Center an accessible, safe, and friendly place for parents and community members to gather.
We hope to meet the diverse needs of our students and their families in the community.
A homelike environment offers a warm, comfortable welcome for all. We will work to increase parental involvement and engagement in their child's education by bridging communication between school and home. We hope to provide informational parent workshops, open house coffee meetings, family fun nights, academic family nights and much more.
Students who thrive in school tend to have strong families, working with teachers to
support learning at home and at school. At the same time, schools that support family
involvement enjoy a positive school climate, a richer school curriculum, more support
from families and the community, and better teacher morale. A Parent Resource Center can
bring it all together.
A Parent Resource center located in a school sends a clear message to parents that they are very
important in the education of their children. Family centers give parents the chance to
feel welcome and involved in school. They provide a place for parents to meet face-to face
with staff members and other parents, forming friendly and child-centered
relationships. Families at Temple Terrace Elementary will benefit greatly from the Parent Resource Center.
We will be using the funds to pay to have the cabinetry and the base boards in the Parent Resource Center updated. They need to have primer first and then be painted with multiple coats of paint. This will be a 2 day project and is a lot of hard work. We are also hoping to be able to buy a Wire Display Rack with 30 slots which will be able to store valuable resources for our families. This is available on Amazon.
