Project Goal

The goal of this project is to help provide Tampa Heights Magnet students in K-5 with theme related classroom books, maps, and artifacts. These materials will create well-rounded learning experience for our students by infusing the Global Studies theme resources.

How Project Benefits Students

Tampa Heights Magnet Elementary Is a Title 1 Global Leadership Academy that serves K-5 diverse students. In 2017, the school was destroyed due to an electrical fire that was started during hurricane Irma. The fire burnt the entire building including all materials, furniture, technology, and magnet items.

The goal of the our Global Leadership Academy is to offer our students a world of learning opportunities through activities that integrate rich diversity of cultures from around the world. Our magnet theme is intertwined throughout our curriculum. This grant will help to purchase books, maps, and world artifacts that celebrate our global studies theme, that were lost in the fire. Theme integrated items will extend our curriculum and allow students to enhance their knowledge on global studies, leadership, cultures and continents around the globe. In addition, they will offer our students options to discover, and explore global studies, world cultures and connect kids to the real world.

Expected Outcome(s)

It is our expectation that throughout this project students in each grade level will attained an extensive knowledge of all the continents and cultures from around the world. Additionally, students will develop a continual love of learning through theme integrated experiences and activities provided in this grant.
