Books, books, and more books. This project will provide our students with high interest books on various levels to utilize as reading incentives and student achievement.
The goal of this project is to get books in the hands of as many students as possible. We want our students to find the joy in reading. Providing choice of popular, high interest, award winning books on multiple levels is a perfect way to get students to fall in love with literacy. The books in this project will also serve as a tool to fill our hopeful, Bookworm vending machine. This machine will allow students to earn tokens to purchase book titles and act as a reward and incentive for reading grows and achievements.
This expected outcome of this project is help our students grow in grade level state literacy standards. We also want to motivate our students to read more often and have choice in what they read. This will provide books that all students at our school can cherish and feel a sense of pride, knowing they earned it. In addition, it will help keeping our kids accountable and for them to have something to look forward to earning and achieving.
Several Popular book series and Sunshine State Young Readers awarded books including; Fiction, Non-fiction, and Graphic novels. These books will appeal to boys, girls, and students with different interests on varying reading levels.
