Project Goal

The goal of this project is to provide students with books to take home on their reading level throughout the school year.

How Project Benefits Students

This project will provide 6 complete sets of 110 different leveled books for students to use at home. These books will be used to supplement classroom materials from the same publisher and can be implemented immediately. This will allow students to continue reading appropriate leveled books in their homes. Many of my students are below level and finding books on their independent reading level can be a challenge for parents. These materials will be used and re-used for years to come as students read and return books each week.

Expected Outcome(s)

I expect that, following implementation of these take home books, students will gain confidence in reading. Families will enjoy time together each night reading books on students' independent reading level. My classroom reading scores will increase as students spend more time engaged in text.
