Find It Fund It Florida - Hillsborough Education Foundation

My goal is to provide an incentive for each student that can be used by all faculty to reward students. I propose that we provide 'ball chain' necklaces to students that can be used to display 'brag tags' that will be awarded for reading achievement, attendance, and more! This aligns with our SIP plan for incentivizing academics and Social Emotional Learning.

Project Goal

My goal is to provide an incentive for each student that can be used by all faculty to reward students. I propose that we provide 'ball chain' necklaces to students that can be used to display 'brag tags' that will be awarded for reading achievement, attendance, and more! This aligns with our SIP plan for incentivizing academics and Social Emotional Learning.

How Project Benefits Students

Encouraging a love of reading is one of the main goals of a Media Specialist, and this project is designed to encourage students to celebrate and display their reading achievements. As students create video book talks, participate in book clubs, and take book quizzes, they will earn Brag Tags to wear around their neck or on their backpack. This project has an added benefit for our student services team, who can add brag tags for attendance, honor roll, and citizenship to their collections. Therefore, this program will support reading standards as well as attendance and aligns with our SIP goal of reinforcing a strong Social Emotional Learning culture by "-Utiliz(ing) incentives to increase student and teacher attendance and improve student learning." (SIP plan)

Expected Outcome(s)

Students will be publicly recognized for their achievements. They will be able to wear their achievements so that others can recognize what they have accomplished, thus creating an environment which is safe, connected
and improves student learning of all members of the 'team'.

Detailed Cost Summary

The materials are to be purchased from SchoolLife.com, including brag tags for SSYRA books, reading, attendance, and other achievements. We will also need to buy the keychains or necklaces to give the students to wear them.
