Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Amgen Foundation - $1,460.00
Get my high school students and the whole school involved in a gardening project to make them feel empowered by it and develop in them a sense of responsibility, leadership, teamwork, and love for conservation and self sustainability.
As a teacher, I have a big responsibility with my special education high school students. I have to prepare them for life and provide them with the tools and skills to live by themselves, (independently) and make them believe in the power within them and that a self-sustainable life is possible, and by farming the land they will acquire all those skills.
The garden will keep growing and serving not only to this year`s kids but also for the next ones that need it.
All my kids will become more interested in farming the land and more compromised with all things they do in life, especially all the plants we`ll grow. Responsibility, collaboration, independence, critical thinking, teamwork, and high self auto steam are some of the values and skills my kids will develop.
We need at least 1,500 hundred dollars to prepare a garden that could hold the weather changes that we have in Florida. We also need enough tools for the kids and to make this project work. On behalf of my kids and my school, thanks for your help and support.
