My goal is to add more book series to my classroom library. Reading is so many times forced upon students, for testing, questions etc. Students also need to learn to love reading and getting lost in a book.
My goal is for my students to find a love of reading and become a lifelong reader. If they can find a series they enjoy students tend to stick with it and be engaged to continue reading. The more students read they build stamina. If they are enjoying the books they read, students will read for longer periods of time. Building stamina helps students work through long tests with lots of text. Building my classroom library with books they enjoy and many different series and choices will allow them this opportunity. I am always focused on building and adding to my library to help meet the interests of my students.
My expected outcome is for my students to be able to work through long tests, such as FSA. They will be building their stamina without knowing and will be engaged and enjoying it.
Includes full series set of Harry Potter, Series of Unfortunate Events, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, Big Nate, Babysitters Club (graphic novels), Wings of Fire, Wings of Fire (graphic novels), and Dog Man.
