Project Goal

The goal of this project is for my 3rd graders to expose my students to hydroponics and aquaponics thus providing them hands on experiences with growing plants.

How Project Benefits Students

Students will benefit by having hands on experiences with different ways to grow plants. This will help them meet the standards as they understand the roles and functions of the plant parts and what plants need to grow. They will also learn how plants respond to the environment(heat, light and gravity) .

Expected Outcome(s)

Through these experiences students will meet the standards for a 3rd grader. Imagine students being highly engaged in watching a seed grow to a plant and then how that plant produces food that they can eat. My hopes is that student will see that they too can grow their own food.
