My goal is to provide hand on materials and learning to get young minds excited about Math.
Most students I service in our school enter school intimidated and hesitant about math and their understanding of numbers because they have not had many experiences. Providing my classroom with these resources will provide my students with the opportunity for continuous hands on learning throughout the year. They will also be able to explore their math thinking through the exploration and games this grant will provide. I would like to put hands on learning at the forefront of every math lesson and helping me to purchase these materials will do just that.
I will be departmentalized and will work with at least 50 of our Kindergarten learners on a day to day basis. Providing funding for these materials will help to create and foster a love of math in young learners. My goal is that they will not only be more excited about math but that it will also push them to expand their ways of thinking and to come to school more excited to learn because they have materials they want to use.
All products funded by this grant will be purchased from Lakeshore Learning. The total price for items will be $667.44 plus a $100.28 for shipping; making the total amount for this grant $767.72
