I would like to increase the amount of books with diverse characters that are available in the media center. Students are looking for books with characters that look like they do. They are eager to share these books with their families.
The books will be available for media center checkout. Students can bring them home or read them in their classrooms. Teachers will use these books in the classroom as read alouds or for lessons. Students will find the shelves filled with more up to date books, which we increase our circulation numbers.
By having access to these books we will see an increase in circulation of books for students wanting books with characters that look like them. There will be an increase in books that are being read and discussed in both the classroom setting and students personal life.
All of these books are from Amazon. Most of them are hardback so that they will hold up for multiple reads.
