My goal is to give a voice to all of my K-5 Exceptional Students by using low tech assistive technology.
Improve my student’s quality of life by giving them a way to communicate in the world. All of my students have significant difficulties in expressing themselves with speech. They often use gestures to communicate their wants, needs, and comments. With appropriate assistive technology, they would be able to express themselves like typical students. These low tech communication devices provide an alternate method of access to ensure each student can participate in educational activities, life skills, and for fun. Everyone needs communication for requesting wants and needs, commenting, answering questions, engaging in conversations, and more. These low tech devices range from basic to complex like: one button voice output, recorded book and/or message button, one button access to technology, 2-4 choice button response, 7 choice button response.
Thank you for donating to my classroom. These devices will impact my classroom for many years to come. The devices will be used by all the students who pass through these walls over the years.
This access to communication will empower my students and give them validation and buy in to education. They will take ownership of the enriching experiences in the school and be able to transfer these skills to their life. They will appreciate how easy these devices are to use and implement in all aspects of academics and life.
These products are all from AbleNetinc.com. They are the leading assistive technology program for people with communication needs. These products will be used for grades K-5 for the Special Classrooms.
