Students have an innate desire and ability to be creative, especially from an early age. The goal of this project is to foster a sense of creativity among students who would otherwise not have a similar opportunity to create the music they want.
Students benefit by having a hands-on experience with the process of creating, producing, and publishing their own music for CD or streaming distribution. The arts are inherently experiential and actively engage learners in the processes of creating, interpreting, and responding to art. In addition, students will incorporate or adapt new, emerging, or previously unfamiliar technology to create an innovative composition, music project, and related product. Creating, interpreting, and responding in the arts stimulate the imagination and encourage innovation and creative risk-taking.
Students will learn from experienced, highly-qualified instructors on the process of creating a complete musical work through the use of recording technology. Students will then have the opportunity to hear their created work produced in a collective album, culminating in a live performance of their work.
