Project Goal

To obtain two computer charging carts for the approximately 50 student laptop computers we recieved for the classrooms in 4th grade.

How Project Benefits Students

Think about any time you have gone to use your phone or laptop and couldn't because the battery was dying or worse, was already dead!? So inconvenient and frustrating, expecially when needing to accomplish an important completed!

We are SO grateful to have had the ability to FINALLY have laptops for every student in our classrooms, however, we were not given the means to keep them all charged!

This project will benefit students by allowing them to be able to plug in their computers at the end of each day into a single power source wired to accommodate the multitude of computers we received. Not only will the carts protect these precious assets from damage, but most important will allow the students to consistently come back every day to charged computers.

Without these carts, student laptop computers will have to be on a rotation divided up by the handful of outlets within the classroom (as shown above in the photo), leaving some students without fully charged computers. This will impede their ability to keep up with the demands of the HCPS requirements for iReady minutes, computerized testing, MyOn, and other projects and lessons within the classroom that lend themselves to all important 21st Century learning. The students here at Jackson Elementary helped the school maintain its grade of a "C," but this year with new administration to lead us we are working toward the goal of becoming an "A" school - it would be a tragedy if this hiccup was the one thing that kept us from our goal!

Expected Outcome(s)

Should this grant be provided, approximately 50 students will be able to learn without the interruption of dying computers and 2 teachers will benefit from having the ability to teach these students exactly what they need when they need it without altering lesson plans and timing in order to accommodate for uncharged/dying laptops.

Detailed Cost Summary

Delivery is included in the price of the carts! Carts are from Government Connections Inc. and are typically the carts used within HCPS district.
