Find It Fund It Florida - Hillsborough Education Foundation

Our art room is in desperate need of a new projector. Our current projector does not support newer technology, it casts colors that are not correct, the image is not clear and the light is simply not powerful to project an image with the lights on. Our goal is to finance a new projector that will be used solely by our art room.

Project Goal

Our art room is in desperate need of a new projector. Our current projector does not support newer technology, it casts colors that are not correct, the image is not clear and the light is simply not powerful to project an image with the lights on. Our goal is to finance a new projector that will be used solely by our art room.

How Project Benefits Students

So much of what we do in a modern art room is through the guise of technology. In our classroom, I spend additional time and resources to pre-record all demonstrations and lessons. This allows me to essentially “duplicate” myself, to be able to circulate the room and be hands on with assisting students. In addition, having the opportunity to have a world of images on the internet that depict famous artworks for kids to be able to discuss and criticize is crucial for their ongoing and rich art education. The projector would also serve as a way to display additional artwork for our yearly art show that we don’t have the physical space to exhibit artwork.

Expected Outcome(s)

Students will have the opportunity to create artwork by referencing the images/videos projected by this new equipment. Students will have the flexibility of having multiple classroom lights on to be able to see their own artwork as well as the images/videos that are being projected. This will serve as a means to connect our students to a variety of images of artworks we don’t have readily available in print. Having the capacity to project high quality images that display rich color and visual textures are incredibly important to their understanding and criticism of the art itself.
