Project Goal

Our goal is to obtain funding in order to purchase classroom sets (46 copies) of Scholastic Storyworks Magazines for student use in subsequent English Language Arts (ELA) blocks!

How Project Benefits Students

Having a Scholastic Storyworks Magazine subscription would benefit our classroom and students greatly, as scholars would have increased access to high quality, interesting educational articles, videos, and slideshows to build background knowledge, vocabulary and reading comprehension. This robust magazine includes multiple genres, leveled texts, digital and hard copies, interactive standards based activity sheets as well as content that is truly interesting to our students! As a Title I elementary school, the Morgan Woods ELA team has great passion for bringing new learning experiences to our Tigers by providing culturally relevant literature to ensure the best education we can provide. Help us do this by supporting our goal of bringing Scholastic Storyworks Magazines into our classroom this year.
 

 

Expected Outcome(s)

If this project is funded, our 4th grade English Language Arts team will have access to high quality articles, standards based resources, and instructional guides to engage students. Our scholars will have increased access to culturally relevant and diverse texts that will challenge and prepare them to take the next step in advanced literacy. These magazines will be cared for and preserved so to benefit our current students as well as future scholars in years to come.

The total cost of $429.59 includes digital and print access to 46 copies of Scholastics Storyworks Magazines. The subscription price is $8.49 per student plus 10% for shipping and handling. https://storyworks.scholastic.com/
