Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Amgen Foundation - $1,533.82
To organize and teach an engaging robotics club at my school in preparation for a Hillsborough Schools Robotics Competition , as well as designing real world lessons in math and science for gifted students.
This project will benefit all of my gifted students as well as other students in all grade levels. The students will build and program Lego Robotics after school and during some math and science lessons during school. Hillsborough County has a robotics competition the students can enter each year to help build community. Building and programming robots teaches problem-solving skills. It encourages creativity and curiosity. This program will prepare students for a technological future while getting students excited about math and science. This engagement will help students achieve higher scores in classrooms. By introducing students to robotics and programming we are furnishing them with foundational skill sets that could become a career in the future.
The robots I purchase will benefit grades 1-5 gifted and all others. This grant will excite students about math and science and prepare them for an ever-evolving technological landscape. The Lego items can be reused every year and I can either use them in an afterschool club or in my gifted classroom.
