Project Goal

The goal of this project is to provide students with an assortment of learning tools in math and science. Each child learns differently, but at this young age students love doing hands on learning.

How Project Benefits Students

This project will give my students the ability to use different manipulatives to solve math problems. The science tools will keep students engaged in learning rather than having to only read about such things as thermometers and magnets. Seeing the students faces when they are able to see a thermometer change from being in a cup a water then adding ice and having the temperature go down. These are the experiences I would like to provide to my students. my class will be using these math and science tools on a daily basis in both subject areas all school year long.

Expected Outcome(s)

The items in this project are all reusable. I have 18 students in class that will be able to use the materials on a daily basis. If any new students come in throughout the school year they will also have access to the math and science tools as well. These durable materials with storage containers will be able to support future students in the years to come.
At this point in the school year, 11% of my class is preforming at grade level in numbers and operations in mathematics. With the use of these materials my goal is is that 88% of my class will be performing at grade level in numbers and operations.
