The goal of the project is to have collaborative groups of students apply critical thinking skills to classroom content to engage and elevate their learning.
Breakout Edu is a program that asks students to solve clues on a particular subject in order to release a series of locks on the Breakout Box. Students must use the notes, lessons and content from the classroom to solve the clues, while also using interpersonal skills to collaborate with their team. Breakout Edu content comes directly from the classroom, so students will be able to show mastery of content and/or practice content to work towards mastery.
This program asks students to think critically and outside of the box, use determination and collaborate with others, skills they will use throughout their life.
Students will be able to show growth and/or mastery of content.
Students will be able engage and retain content through critical thinking.
Students will be able to collaborate and work with others, increasing their social-emotional skills.
Total cost would allow for a year long subscription to physical and digital breakout lessons, as well as six physical breakout boxes. Teachers will have access to physical and digital lessons to use in their classrooms or in the Media Center.
